[ONE OF A KIND]
10’ x 5’9” (Oversized Rug)
Orange, Purple, Black, Tan, Green, Burgundy
This vintage rug was made by a woman of a Berber tribe in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco.
The carpet is in excellent condition and will be washed prior to shipment. Approximately 20-30 years old, this carpet would have originally been made by a Berber woman for personal use in her own home. She created it with wool and small portions of cotton thread, and permitted herself personal freedom in expressing her own creativity and values through North African symbology and colors as she wove these designs.
This carpet is a very old and unique piece from the Middle Atlas Mountains and displays a host of complex Berber designs. In the past, Berber women made such carpets for themselves and also as gifts for special occasion, including weddings.
This piece is one of a kind, and can be used as a rug or wall hanging.
It will be ready to use as soon as you receive it. If you will be using it as a rug, we would suggest placing a non-stick pad underneath it to preserve the weave and keep it from sliding.
All sales are final, so please review all images and dimensions, and feel free to email us with any questions prior to making your purchase.
